How Frequently Should You Do A Colon Cleanse?

By Bart Icles

Undoubtedly, colon cleansing is the current health craze people are absolutely enthusiastic about, with many people doing their own versions of the cleanse and trying any products that can help them eliminate waste materials from their colons better. And there are indeed quite a lot of these products; since the trend emerged, many companies have been releasing their own colon cleansers and people have just been snapping them up, making it more important than ever for consumers to be smart about what they’re buying and know that what they’re getting are true colon cleansers that are beneficial to their health.

The colon cleanse is popular a great many reasons. One of the major ones is that it helps people get rid of excess weight, weight they haven’t been able to burn off no matter what diet or exercise regimen they try. The colon cleanse really does have that effect on the body, because as has been discovered, we all carry some amount of weight in our body, which is mostly unprocessed waste materials. It is believed that the total weight of these toxins can reach up to five pounds. So it doesn’t come as a surprise that people are willing to lose weight with a colon cleanse.

Of course, that’s not the only thing inspiring people to do a colon cleanse. Concern for health is also another major reason, particularly since colon cleansing brings with it a lot of benefits to the body. People who have tried it say that it has made them feel better, gotten rid of all their inexplicable aches and pains and has also significantly reduced their headaches. It could be because toxins do affect our systems, and being rid of them is kind of like a sigh of relief for the body. Some people also report having better skin and eyes after a cleanse.

Because of these miraculous effects, it can happen that people will get so attached–or even addicted–to the colon cleanse to the point that they’ll begin performing it regularly. This isn’t exactly advisable; after all, too many of anything, even a good thing, can be bad. Your body does need other nutrients to function, and what you consume to make the colon cleanse possible won’t be enough to help sustain your body. Plus, it will also take a toll on your colon if you do it too frequently.

Instead of doing a colon cleanse several days in a row, just do it every week, ideally the weekend, during which you can relax and really take a break from all the food you ate during the week. Pace yourself and don’t pressure your body by cleansing constantly.
